The hotel’s location next to a calm lake was breathtaking. the atmosphere was serene and made for a great family trip. the rooms were stylish with comfortable beds and lovely wooden furnishings, as mentioned in a previous review. the bathroom facilities were extremely clean and tidy with amazing views of the lake. Guests may also enjoy the hotel’s beach area, and take advantage of the staff's helpfulness, such as making lunch reservations, as described in another review. as stated in a review, the hotel compensated guests when a mistake was made regarding a baby bed.
As noted in a previous review, the walk from the nearby train station can be a little challenging with large luggage, but it is manageable.

During our stay at Grand Park Hotel Okubiwako Makino, my family and I were delighted by the stunning location right next to Lake Biwa. The sandy and gravelly beach provided a perfect spot for our kids to play and enjoy the calm lake. The hotel also offered a range of activities, including a BBQ on the beach, which though a little pricey, provided a great selection of delicious food. We also had the opportunity to try paddleboarding, adding to our enjoyable experience. Additionally, we were pleased to find a convenience store nearby and an Indian restaurant just 100 meters away, which turned out to be one of the best Indian restaurants we've encountered in Japan.

The hotel is located next to a beautiful lake which provides great views during the day. The rooms were quite spacious and clean with comfortable beds to rest on. The buffet breakfast offered a wide range of delicious options to choose from, including both western and Japanese dishes.
The hotel is lacking some upkeep, as the rooms and corridors seemed a little old and could use some updating. the hotel did not offer a shuttle service from the train station, which made it difficult to travel with heavy luggage.

This hotel was amazing! I loved how it was located right on the edge of the national park, with the calm lake right beside it. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, allowing me to park my bike and even storing my SUP inside to avoid theft. The hotel facilities were great, with the option to hire bicycles and pool towels available. And the breakfast buffet had a wide variety of western and Japanese options to choose from.
All was perfect.

I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel! The location couldn't have been more perfect, as it was right on the beautiful Lake Biwa. I could relax and enjoy the calmness of the lake right outside my window. The service provided by the staff was exceptional, from the housekeeping to the friendly restaurant staff. The room amenities were top-notch, with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The hotel even had a ski pass vendor, making it convenient for those interested in skiing. I was also impressed with the free Wi-Fi and on-site car park facilities.
I highly recommend this hotel to everyone.
